Leonardo Cimino
Portrait by Beatrice Tozzi France, 2012
Though he had lived a long, full, artistic and happy life I was indeed saddened to learn that we had lost our friend Leonardo Cimino.
Leonardo was a wonderful man and a talented actor who graced a great many productions. I was privileged to have him alongside me in V. He brought an extraordinary presence and his powerful gravitas to our miniseries.
I was honored to have worked with him and that of his many memorable roles The New York Times chose for their article about him a photo of Leonardo taken during our original V.
His potent performance, particularly in the scene pictured in The Times when he stood up for Resistance, told the youngsters that V was for Victory and then commanded them to, "Go tell your friends..." will continue to ring down the years.
I will miss him...but I will never, ever forget him.
